Ichiban is by far our favorite sushi restaurant in Porto.

The freshness of their product, the kindness of their service and the bright light make it a special place.

The chef, Masaki Onishi, was born in Japan and has worked in several Japanese restaurants. Before moving to Porto along with his family he was the chef at the Japanese Embassy in Lisbon. He has always stood for tradition instead of fashionable trends. We just hope he keeps it that way!

Here, at Ichiban, you can taste genuine Japanese food and the best fish around town. Plus, it’s just a few minutes within walking distance from Flattered to be in Porto.

It’s a unique and beautiful place. We highly recommend it! And as we write down this post and go through the pictures we decide that it’s time to have lunch there… tomorrow!
